GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Consumers Energy announced Thursday it will build a $20 million headquarters in Grand Rapids.
The building will house up to 275 employees who work to support energy service in the Grand Rapids area, the company’s largest service area in Michigan. A Consumers Energy release said up to 275 employees currently based in the company’s Wyoming location are expected to move to the new building and around 250 workers will remain in Wyoming.
The six-story, 40,000-square-foot building will be in the city’s west side on Alabama Street NW.
Construction of the building is expected to be completed by 2020.
