5K brings awareness to brain, spine cancers

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A 5K run and walk is being held in Grand Rapids Saturday to bring awareness to brain and spine cancers.

The Spectrum Health Brain and Spine Tumor Program is holding its first annual 5K for Gray at Millennium Park at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Organizers of the event say they hope to bring the community together to celebrate those affected by brain and spine tumors and to bring awareness to help find a cure.

The event is free, but donations are welcomed.

Donations can be made online or by making out a check to Spectrum Health Foundation then send it to Kris Palosaari, 100 Michigan Street NE, MC 004, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
