GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A Muskegon County employee and former Sparta Village council member who requested sexually explicit pictures of a co-worker’s young children has been sentenced.

Paul Bryan Hibbard was sentenced in Kent County Circuit Court to six months in the county jail with credit for one day served and 60 months probation.

In April, Hibbard pleaded no contest to three counts of possession of child sexually abusive material. As part of his plea deal, two counts of using a computer to commit a crime were dismissed.

Hibbard has been bound over to Circuit Court in Muskegon County on related charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and gross indecency. No court date has been set at this time.

According to court records, Hibbard allegedly sent text messages to fellow co-worker Christine Workman requesting sexually explicit photos of her three and six year old daughters.

Police said Workman’s illicit text messages with Hibbard included the photo of her 3-year-old daughter. Records show it was followed by a text message that Hibbard wanted to see more.

Hibbard has worked for Muskegon County for 20 years, assigned to facilities management. He also was a member of the Sparta Village Council before abruptly resigning in September.
