GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP/WOOD) — Efforts are taking place to make it easier to hail a cab in downtown Grand Rapids.
Officials on Wednesday are unveiling five new Taxi Zones. Two 24-hour stands are located in front of DeVos Place and near Founders Brewing Co.
People also will be able to hail a cab at three other zones from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. daily: Rosa Parks Circle, near the JW Marriott and in the Heartside Arena District.
Recommendations made by the Ground Transportation Steering Committee spawned the Taxi Zones. City commissioners asked the committee to come up with transportation improvements last fall.
