GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Six months after serving up its first meal in downtown Grand Rapids, The Waldron Public House is going private.

In a post on Facebook, The Waldron Public House says it’s “shifting gears” to focus entirely on hosting private parties and special events for parties of 30 people to 300 people.

“Because of this, we are no longer open to the public as a restaurant or bar. We took a look at our business and saw huge growth potential in our events business, so we decided to spend all of our time and resources to make this downtown’s best place for private parties and special events,” they added on Facebook.

The business plans to continue to host Irish on Ionia as well as other community events.

Barfly Adventures opened The Waldron Public House on Feb. 13. The restaurant, which replaced McFadden’s, is named for the historic building it’s housed in.
