ALLENDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies are investigating a string of home invasions and larcenies in Ottawa County.

Several houses in the 6100 block of Lincoln Street in Allendale Township were broken into between 11 p.m. Monday and 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

In one case, a victim called deputies to report a purse and .38-caliber revolver were stolen from inside their house.

The suspect got into the house through an unlocked garage door, according to deputies.

The purse was found in the neighborhood, but the gun is still missing.

Since Dec. 1, 2015, around 20 break-ins and seven larceny complaints have been reported in Allendale, Wright and Tallmadge townships, according to OCSD. In all cases, the suspect or suspects got in through unlocked garage doors or vehicles.

Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Observer at 877.887.4536 or the sheriff’s department at 616.738.4000.
