Body found on Muskegon beach along Lake Michigan


MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — A body was found on a Muskegon beach along the Lake Michigan shoreline on Tuesday.

The Muskegon County Sheriff’s Department told 24 Hour News 8 that a man walked into the water at Lake Harbor Park in Norton Shores. His body later washed ashore in Pere Marquette Park in Muskegon — nearly six miles away.

According to the sheriff’s department, the victim had suffered from depression and they believe he committed suicide.

Norton Shores Police Chief Jon Gale told 24 Hour News 8 that they are trying to get more details and notify family before sending out an official press release.
