Schools delayed due to power outage in Barry County

THORNAPPLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Some schools in Barry County were delayed Friday due to a power outage.

The outages, which were first reported around 4:50 a.m. Friday, affected more than 1,400 customers near the Middleville area. The power was restored around 7:30 a.m. Friday.

Thornapple Kellogg School District issued a two-hour delay Friday due to the power outages. Morning preschool as well as early childhood special education classes were canceled. 

Consumers Energy told 24 Hour News 8 that the outage was caused due to a equipment issue with a power pole.
