THORNAPPLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Firefighters spent several hours knocking down a fire Wednesday morning at a home near Caledonia.

It started around 4:20 a.m. near the intersection of Lydia Court at Windy Ridge Drive.

Authorities say the fire caused a total loss of the building, which was a home that was under construction and nearing completion. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Fire crews said a water supply was a problem and having a long drive to the home caused difficulties in containing the blaze.
