GOLDEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Investigators believe an asthma attack may have led to the death of a man pulled from an Oceana County lake.
Oceana County marine deputies were patrolling Silver Lake around 2:30 p.m. Saturday when they were called to a possible drowning near the northwest edge of the water. Dispatchers said a nurse began giving the victim CPR after he was pulled from the water.
A deputy identified the man as 26-year-old Michael Shamon of Shelby Township.
Witnesses told deputies Shamon had been yelling for help from atop his Jet Ski before he was rescued.
Investigators say Shamon suffered from severe asthma and may have had an asthma attack, however the incident remains under investigation.
