GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — An artist up for a juried award at ArtPrize 10 is using her art to create awareness to sexual harassment occurring the military.
Locked and Loaded by Kimberly Walker is a wall of duffel bags that has the name and rank of a military member who died under suspicious circumstances printed on the bottom.
Walker is a 17-year Army combat veteran who creates art about women in the military.
“I want people to know that we need to hold everybody across the board accountable for sexual assault, including the military, so we need to pay attention to that as well,” Walker said.
Locked and Loaded is located at Grand Valley State University’s downtown campus at 301 Fulton St.
