Amish family injured after car hits buggy


MECOSTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — An Amish couple and their 1-year-old son were injured when a car hit their buggy in Mecosta County Monday night.

The crash happened just before 9 p.m. on Northland Drive near Polk Road in Mecosta Township.

The 22-year-old driver from Morley told deputies he went over the hill going southbound and the buggy was in the middle of the road also traveling southbound. He hit the buggy and the three people inside were ejected.

A 35-year-old man, his 34-year-old wife and their 1-year-old son were all taken to Big Rapids Spectrum Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
