TROWBRIDGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A man died after a crash near Allegan Monday.
It happened around 1:40 p.m. at the intersection of M-40 and 110th Avenue in Trowbridge Township.
A SUV driving west on 110th Avenue did not stop for a stop sign at the intersection, the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office said in a release. The SUV crashed with a semi-truck driving north on M-40.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said. It identified him as Gabriel Yskes, 20, of Grand Rapids.
The semi-truck driver was brought to the hospital with minor injuries and has been released, deputies say.
The sheriff’s office believes distracted driving was a factor in the crash.
M-40 was closed for several hours Monday as deputies investigated.
The crash remains under investigation.
