HOPKINS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — One person was killed when an SUV rolled over east of Hopkins Sunday afternoon.
The crash happened around 3:40 p.m. on 20th Street south of 128th Avenue in Hopkins Township.
Michigan State Police said that after the driver lost control, his SUV left the road, rolled and hit a tree. The driver, who police say wasn’t wearing his seat belt, was killed.
MSP didn’t immediately release his name, but said he is a 32-year-old from Hopkins.
He was the only person in the SUV.
Dispatchers from several West Michigan counties told 24 Hour News 8 that crews were responding to weather-related crashes numbering in the hundreds all together. They urged people to slow down amid snowy conditions.
