ALLEGAN, Mich. (WOOD) — A former Allegan Area Educational Services Agency principal already accused of sexually assaulting two co-workers now faces additional charges.
In Allegan County District Court on Wednesday, Jonathon Garcia was charged with two new counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, a count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of obstruction of justice.
According to court records, Garcia was arrested earlier this month after two female employees said he sexually assaulted them between September 2015 and January. Both said that Garcia used sexually explicit language on multiple occasions and put his hands on their private parts.
Initially, a detective said that Garcia denied the allegations. However, Garcia later admitted on Feb. 1 to sexual contact with the two employees. He was then arraigned on a total of 11 third- and fourth-degree CSC charges.
Following his arraignment, AAESA said Garcia was placed on administrative leave. He later resigned.
Garcia was booked in the Allegan County jail on the new charges and posted bond after arraignment.
