GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — More than 50 restaurants are expected to take part in Restaurant Week Grand Rapids in August.
Participating restaurants will either offer three-course meals for $28 per person or a three-course meal for two people for $28. Chefs are encouraged to use local ingredients in their meals.
“Restaurant Week provides an excellent opportunity for the public to explore new restaurants and sample interesting ingredients and cooking styles,” said Janet Korn, Senior Vice President of Experience Grand Rapids, in a news release.
Restaurant Week also helps support students at the Secchia Institute for Culinary Education. One dollar of every meal sold during Restaurant Week will be donated to the Secchia Institute for Culinary Education’s Student Scholarship Fund at Grand Rapids Community College. Since 2010, more than $110,000 has been raised for the scholarship fund.
Restaurant Week runs from August 10-21 and organizers say fifteen new restaurants are participating this year. Menus for each restaurant were announced on July 20.
