KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Three people were arrested in connection to a recent spike in robberies and gun violence in the Kalamazoo area.
Police received information that the suspects were hiding out on Alamo Hills Drive Tuesday, according to release from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.
Officers surrounded the location and all three suspects surrendered without incident.
Authorities found three handguns, a shotgun and evidence of recent robberies while searching the residence.
A 19-year-old man was arrested for a felony armed robbery warrant. An 18-year-old man was arrested for a felony armed robbery warrant and a felony probation violation warrant. The third suspect, a 17-year-old man, was arrested for felony probation violation. Their names have not been released.
Several other charges are expected to be forwarded to the Kalamazoo Prosecutor’s Office.
Police credited tips from citizens for helping capture the suspects.
