CHESTER TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Two people were hospitalized Thursday after a crash east of Ravenna.
The crash happened around 11:25 a.m. at the intersection of 32nd Avenue and Truman Street in Chester Township, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say Malivia Hernandez was driving north on 32nd when she failed to stop at the intersection, at which point her vehicle broadsided by an eastbound car. Both vehicles ended up in a ravine alongside the road.
Hernandez was pinned in to her car and had to be freed. The 43-year-old from Casnovia sustained multiple fractures and was taken to a Grand Rapids hospital, where she was later listed in stable condition.
The other driver, 53-year-old Christine Snyder of Sparta, sustained a foot fracture. She was also taken to a Grand Rapids hospital and listed in stable condition.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
