GRAND HAVEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) – An Ottawa County woman is in serious condition after a three-vehicle crash in Grand Haven Township.
It happened just before 3 p.m. Thursday on Lakeshore Drive at Lincoln Street.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies said a 17-year-old driver from West Olive was southbound on Lakeshore Drive and didn’t notice the vehicle in front of him was stopped for traffic at the intersection.
The teenage driver hit the second vehicle from behind before veering into the northbound lanes of Lakeshore Drive, where his vehicle hit a third vehicle head-on.
A passenger in the third vehicle, 31-year-old Liudmyla Svyryd of West Olive, was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. The driver in that vehicle, 46-year-old Alexey Nikitin of West Olive, suffered minor injuries.
No one else was injured, authorities said.
The 17-year-old driver was ticketed for causing the crash.
