HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) — Hope College, ranked fifth nationally, lost to 11th-ranked Trine 73-61 Wednesday night in a key Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association matchup.
Holland Christian graduate Kennedy Schoonveld led the Flying Dutch with 18 points. Fellow Maroons alum Olivia Voskuil had 10 points.
The loss drops Hope to 3-1 in the MIAA, 11-2 overall.
Trine improved to 4-0 in the league and 11-2 overall. A 22-11 run in the second quarter helped the Thunder build a 12-point halftime lead.
Hope is back in action Saturday when it travels to Kalamazoo College for a 3 p.m. tipoff.
