ALLENDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Valley State won both the men’s and women’s basketball games Thursday night at GVSU Fieldhouse Arena, earning a GLIAC doubleheader sweep.
The ninth-ranked women’s team kicked of the evening with a 64-46 victory. Cassidy Boensch picked up her 11th double-double of the season, scoring 32 points and recording 10 rebounds. The Lakers improve to 14-1 overall and a perfect 7-0 in conference play.
The men picked up the win in the nightcap defeating Saginaw Valley State 85-78. Hunter Hale led the way with 25 points. Jeramiah Ferguson added 18 points. It was the Lakers 10th victory of the season and improved GVSU to 4-3 in GLIAC play.
Both teams return to action Saturday night with another conference doubleheader against Northwood. Tipoff is at 6 p.m.
