GVSU, Ferris State split GLIAC doubleheader

ALLENDALE, Mich. (WOOD) — The 10th-ranked Grand Valley State women’s basketball team defeated Ferris State 76-61 Thursday night at the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena.

Cassidy Boensch scored 25 points to lead the Lakers. Maddie Dailey had 19 points and Jenn DeBoer added 15 points in the victory. Grand Valley State improves to 12-1 overall and 5-0 in GLIAC play.

Ferris State was able to earn the split in the men’s game as the Bulldogs pulled out the 86-79 victory. The Bulldogs were led by DeShaun Thrower, who had 23 points. Grand Valley State’s Jake Van Tubbergen paced the Lakers with 18 points.

Ferris State improves to 11-5 overall and 3-2 in the GLIAC. Grand Valley State is now 9-3, 3-2 in the GLIAC.
