BIG RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Ferris State football will be missing an important piece of its lineup on Saturday.
Junior defensive back and two-sport athlete DeShaun Thrower won’t be on the gridiron, as he will hit the hardwood for the Bulldogs’ basketball team at Duke.
The Blue Devils host the reigning Division II champion every year for an exhibition game at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Thrower has played in all eight of Ferris’ football games this season, compiling 34 tackles, one fumble recovery and an interception. He finished last basketball season with 7.7 points per game and shot 43.8 percent from three-point range.
