Gazelle Girl is just days away now and if you’re signed up to run one of the races, you’re also helping give back to charity. Today, we’re talking more about where those dollars go, joining us are Charisse Mitchell and Abby Johnson from YWCA.
>>> Take a look in the video above.
The YWCA is our community’s largest most comprehensive provider of services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, including shelter, advocacy, support groups, counseling, rape exams, and prevention and empowerment programming. They are proud to be one of the charity partners for Gazelle Girl.
They say they love the race because they focus every day on providing a supportive environment for survivors if they’re in their shelter. It’s not just a roof and a bed; they’re getting child care or having a legal advocate as they go to court for a Personal Protection Order, they’re working with a therapist or going to trauma-informed yoga. That’s the support they are all about, and they see that same supportive spirit in Gazelle Girl.
