Running for Cayden

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) On Sunday, April 17, every woman taking part in the Gazelle Girl Half Marathon and 5K is lacing up for a personal reason. One of them is running for a cause she believes in and a boy she’s never met.

Ashley Decair was linked with a boy in Texas through the IR4 program. It links runners to people with special needs. The runners dedicate their runs to that person. Decair was matched with Cayden, who cannot walk but wishes he could.

To get involved in IR4 and see if running events are right for you, come to the Gazelle Girl Half Marathon and 5K in Grand Rapids on Sunday, April 17.
