Our state is filled with gorgeous lakes, rivers and inland waterways and it doesn’t matter what season, you’ll see folks fishing, swimming, or enjoying some sort of outdoor recreation. But with all those waterways, which are habitats for all kinds of wonderful wildlife, there’s a lot to protect and maintain. That’s why the Michigan Wildlife Council urges people to take an active role in that.

Today, Rachael’s exploring a popular river in Rockford, that’s used by thousands of people each year. More importantly, is how some of those folks are helping to maintain it, so it can be enjoyed for generations to come.
