Festival of the Arts isn’t the only place to find art this weekend. Inside the walls of the Grand Rapids Art Museum you’ll find a couple of fantastic new exhibitions.
They showcase the talents of a few very accomplished artists, who use their own cultural background to create pieces that will wow you!
Rachael had the chance to walk through those exhibitions recently, and talk with the Chief Curator at the GRAM about what makes them so special!
>>> Take a look in the video above.
- “Mirror Variations” and “Intersections” run through August 26th
- “Transformations” by Oswaldo Vigas is here through September 2nd
Of course, the GRAM has special events planned around these exhibitions – one of them is a film screening of “Monir” on June 14th at 7pm… it’s free… and it looks at the life and work of the Iranian artist behind “Mirror Variations”, and how she became of the most influential artists working in the Middle East today.
Also for the summer, keep in mind that “Meijer Free Days” allow you to visit the GRAM for free! Those take place every Tuesday from 10am to 5pm, and Thursday evenings from 5 to 9pm.
