GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) A new event debuts in May to benefit Hospice of Michigan. Barley, BBQ & Beats is a new fundraising idea that is combining West Michigan’s love for food, drinks, and philanthropy.
Hospice of Michigan traditionally held a walk every May as its main fundraiser. It decided to shake things up a little to reach more members in the community. They came up with Barley, BBQ & Beats, which will combine West Michigan’s best BBQ, spirits, and live music. Bier Distillery in Comstock Park is just one of the many businesses who jumped at the chance to help.
Proceeds from Barley, BBQ & Beats will support Hospice of Michigan’s Open Access program, which provides care to individuals regardless of their diagnosis or ability to pay.
Sponsorships are still available for Barley, BBQ & Beats. The event takes place Saturday, May 21, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids. Tickets are on sale now on the Facebook page or through Hospice of Michigan.Sole Cry Sour
