Pink Heart Day in Rosa Parks Circle

DATE: September 10th

TIME: 11am-8pm

LOCATION: Rosa Parks Circle, Grand Rapids

BIGGBY COFFEE hopes to help i understand raise awareness by planning a route throughout Michigan and holding “Coffee and Conversation” events at BIGGBY® COFFEE locations. Each “Coffee and Conversation” event will last a few hours just once during the month of September. *Times and locations listed below.

In addition to “Coffee and Conversation,” BIGGBY COFFEE will be selling i understand pink hearts for $1 to support their mission, to raise awareness and continue to support people struggling with mental illness or have lost a loved one to suicide. i understand will be donating these pink hearts to all BIGGBY®  locations free of charge so 100% of the proceeds go back to the organization. For each pink heart sold, the customer will also get to sign their name on a paper pink heart to be displayed in store.

Founded in 2014 by Vonnie Woodrick in memory of her husband who lost his battle to depression in 2003, i understand’s mission is to erase the stigma and judgment associated with mental illness and suicide. Through a partnership with Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, i understand delivers mental health care packages in Michigan and around the country as well as hosting free support groups, educational events and speaking engagements.

i understand’s vision is to erase the negative stigma associated with mental illness and suicide through their Pink Heart Project campaign. BIGGBY COFFEE is excited to announce that for the month of September they’re joining forces with i understand’s Pink Heart Project to help support all people. Why September? September is National Suicide Prevention month, and there’s no better time to bring awareness, and ensure a big impact is made.
