GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - This coming Tuesday is a special day for brides-to-be. Memories Bridal & Evening Wear of downtown Kalamazoo will be paying tribute to military and first responder brides-to-be with free wedding dresses during an event called Operation Wedding Gown. This is an event in partnership with Brides Across America. On Tuesday, November 13, Memories Bridal & Evening Wear will have over 60 designer wedding gowns in sizes 6-20 available free of charge to qualifying brides-to-be.
If you are interested in participating in this event, brides must pre-register at www.bridesacrossamerica.com. Then, brides can call Memories Bridal & Evening Wear at (269) 344-2404 to reserve an appointment time. Military and first responders (or their fiancé) that have served in the past five years can participate.
Since its founding in 2008, Brides Across America has provided over 20,000 wedding gowns to military and first responder brides.
The giveaway event at Memories Bridal & Evening Wear is one of only two events being held in Michigan.
If you would like to donate your gently worn wedding dress, veil, or headpiece to a military bride, donations will be gladly accepted through November 12.
