Dealing with college culture shock

College can be a trying time for anyone, everything is new and different and kids are often out on their own for the first time. The college years of Robert Peace are the subject of a book written by his college roommate.

“The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace” is the story we are highlighting this week in our GR Reads summer adult reading program through the Grand Rapids Public Library. It’s the story of a brilliant young man who left the New Jersey ghetto for  the Ivy League, but his  story doesn’t end there.

Do you have a child heading to college? It can be a nervous time for children and their parents – and there’s a special event tied to this book called “Surviving College Culture Shock”.

Today, we have Aleka Thrash from Cornerstone University along with Shayla Willis from T2C Studio.
