So, you’ve probably done your back to school supply shopping. That’s usually fun for kids, right? Well, not always. The cost of supplies can really add up and be stressful. Samaritas is trying to alleviate some of the financial stress of going back to school for students who are in the foster care system.
Samaritas is also embarking on another donation effort right now. It’s a rummage sale for the Samaritas New Refugee Program. You can drop off donations through August 17th, large items on August 21st and 22nd. You can drop them off at any Samaritas Senior Living building.
Some donation suggestions include household items, small furnishings, working small electronics, clothing, books, art, antiques, and children’s items. Then, join them for the big sale on August 23rd and 24th at Samaritas Senior Living.
Their services help newly arrived refugees navigate their sometimes scary first few months in the U.S. as they begin to rebuild their lives and take steps toward becoming U.S. citizens.
