Preventing burnout in the workplace is crucial to keeping morale up and workers motivated, but what about burnout in the critical field of hospice care.

Today we have Barbara Anderson with Hospice of Michigan here to tell us about a new grant helping caregivers.

A recent national survey of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine showed that 62% of respondents met the criteria for burnout. Burnout can leadto a high turnover for workers in the hospice and palliative care fields, resulting in poorer quality of care, more medical errors and less empathy toward the elderly population.

Hospice of Michigan is one of 30 organizations across the state to receive a grant.
