Muskegon, Mich. (WOOD) – There’s more students working this summer thanks in part to the DTE Energy Foundation.
Earlier this summer, the DTE Energy Foundation announced the $150,000 grant to employ 100 youth for summer jobs.
This effort couldn’t happen without the partnership between DTE Energy, United Way of the Lakeshore and Michigan Works!
The students employed thanks to this grant come from across West Michigan, in counties like Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, Kent, Mecosta and Lake at various nonprofit agencies
The 100 student workers will be earning more than a paycheck but will gain valuable work experience, workplace ethics, important soft skills.
