Luke Stier is News 8’s Executive Producer of News and Special Events.
He is a lifelong Michigander. He grew up in Millington in Michigan’s Thumb before coming west to Grand Rapids for college.
After reporting for one year at The Daily News in Greenville, Luke started as a producer at WOOD TV8 in 2008. He currently oversees content for News 8 at Noon, 5, 6 and The Seven. He also leads coverage of special events like ArtPrize, River Bank Run and election night.
Luke has a passion for West Michigan’s incredible lakeshore. He spends as much time as possible exploring new beaches with his three daughters.
Luke has worked with Storm Team 8 on in-depth coverage of the impact of the rising and falling water levels on Lake Michigan. Each summer he puts together an interactive beach guide on woodtv.com with information and pictures of every public beach in West Michigan.
