Brittany Flowers joined the News 8 team as a Daybreak reporter in February 2021 and became anchor of Weekend Daybreak in February 2022.
West Michigan-born and -raised, she’s excited and grateful to be back in her home community.
Brittany graduated from Jenison High School and moved to East Lansing to study journalism and Spanish at Michigan State University. While she was there, she went on two study abroad trips to Europe and Puerto Rico. She also interned at WLNS-TV, FOX 47 and HOM-TV.
After taking some time off after college to go backpacking across Europe, Brittany got her first job as a general assignment reporter at WLNS-TV in Lansing. In her two years reporting in the Capital City, Brittany covered everything from protests, the Lansing riots and the 2020 presidential election. She also filled in on the anchor desk from time to time.
When she’s not working, Brittany enjoys cooking, going to the gym, cuddling with her mini goldendoodle Jersey, and hanging out with friends and family. In the winter, you’ll likely catch her out on the slopes, and during the summer she’s usually either boating, camping, or hanging out at the beach.
