GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD)-This year’s back to school shopping can be a breeze with a trip to Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in Auburn Hills.  With nearly 185 stores, restaurants, and attractions, who knew back to school shopping could be so much fun.  One place to check out for back-to-school shopping at is Boxed Lunch.  This is a one stop shop for all things fun and pop culture themed.  They have fun themed backpacks, pencil cases and clothes from popular brands such as Marvel, Disney and many more.  Best of all when you shop at Boxed Lunch you help top give back to the community.  Box Lunch has partnered with Feeding America and Forgotten Harvest to make a difference.  For every 10 dollars spent, one meal gets donated by the two organizations.

Back to school is more than just grade school, it also includes College.  Great Lakes Crossing Outlets has stores such as Bed Bath and Beyond to get your college student ready for the dorms this year.  They feature so many innovative items that would make many parents wish they were going back to school.  Such as a Laundry Bag that functions as a duffle bag or a backpack or a 2-inch Therapedic mattress topper.  While your shopping, do not forget to check out the shop area selfie spot.  You can take a picture next to the big sign that says I love shopping and post it on Instagram, your picture could be featured on the Great lakes Crossing Outlets website.

While the great shopping and selection of stores may impress you, soon something on the wall may also stop you in your tracks.  Kevin Burdick is a street artist that is doing 2 large scale murals in the shopping outlet.  They are 50ft by 16ft and are mostly done by spray paint.  These beautiful murals are all about Michigan and what makes our state great.  Kevin’s goal is to have shoppers see his murals and have an appreciation for the state of Michigan.
