A Montcalm County house fire is under investigation and is being considered "possibly suspicious."
Fire crews were called to the home, which was vacant and under construction, in the 3300 block of Wise Road in Sidney Township just before 7:30 a.m.
Flames destroyed half the house and spread to a neighboring home that was also vacant.
The Sheridan Community fire chief told 24 Hour News 8 on scene that both homes were owned by the same person. They were working to notify the homeowner.
The fire chief called the fire possibly suspicious due to the house being vacant and because the fire may have started on the back porch area.
A fire marshal is expected to examine the home Thursday morning.
