MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WOOD) - Police in Muskegon Heights are working to find out who shot a 17-year-old in the abdomen Wednesday evening.
It happened around 8:30 p.m. in the area of Hume Avenue and Jefferson Street, Muskegon Heights Police Chief Lynne Gill confirmed.
The 17-year-old told police in an initial statement that he was walking down a dark alley when he heard shots, Gill said. The victim said he did not see anything.
He sustained a non-life-threatening injury to the abdomen.
Muskegon Heights police are investigating.
