GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (WOOD) - When faced with a challenge in life there are basically two choices, either retreat or find a way to tackle the challenge head on. In 1985, six couples who had children with Down Syndrome got together to find a way to provide support and share knowledge with other families. That's how the Down Syndrome Association of West Michigan was formed. Now, they are inviting the community to Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk this weekend and join in their celebration! There will be family fun activities, games, face painting, and more.
