GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - In the spring of 1994, the Whitecaps made their debut at what was then Old Kent Park. In the last 20 years, the Whitecaps baseball has become a part of summer here in West Michigan.
But the effort to bring baseball to the greater Grand Rapids area began long before that.
Whitecaps CEO and Managing Partner Lew Chamberlain and Partner and Chief Financial Officer Denny Baxter, stopped by Sports Overtime this week to talk about how they teamed up in the mid-1980s to make that happen.
