GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Race Director Kristen Aidif and Greg Meyer -- the last American man to win the Boston Marathon in 1983 -- stopped by Sports Overtime to discuss the 36th annual Fifth Third River Bank Run.
The Fifth Third River Bank Run is scheduled for Saturday. Nearly 22,000 walkers and runners and more than 2,000 volunteers are expected to participate.
In the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings -- in which Meyer was again participating with his family -- security at the River Bank Run has been increased.
Aidif and Meyer discuss the impact of the bombing on the marathon and this year's participation numbers.
