DETROIT (WOOD) - Few of us will get the chance to see a World Series game in person. So when the Tigers won the American League pennant, Rich Wilson shelled out $1000 for two tickets - one for him and one for his father-in-law.
"Everybody's excited to be here," Wilson told 24 Hour News 8. "It's not just a Sunday afternoon trip to the ball park. You know, everybody's got a pretty high level of excitement and enthusiasm."
Including his father-in-law Mike Svedadas.
"I love this guy," he said. "He's good."
But farther up in Comerica Park's section 216, Battle Creek resident Todd Westover is at his eighth Fall Classic.
He's seen World Series games in "Yankee Stadium, Shea Stadium, Philadelphia."
Section 216 provides a nice, high view over the first base line, but Westover said the seats have little to do with the experience.
"Doesn't matter where you sit," he told 24 Hour News 8. "Just being here, it's electric. You know, the atmosphere is amazing."
On Saturday, the Michigan State Spartans will be taking on the Ohio State Buckeyes for the Big Ten College Football title. On Friday, fans began gathering in Indianapolis for the big game.
