GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - One of the Grand Rapids Griffins stopped by 24 Hour News 8 Sports Overtime Sunday to discuss their Calder Cup championship.
The Griffins beat the Syracuse Crunch 5-2 Tuesday night in Game 6 of the Calder Cup Finals. The win gave them their first AHL title.
Grand Rapids won the first two Finals games in Syracuse and Game 3 in Grand Rapids, but lost Games 4 and 5 at home.
Griffins left wing Tristan Grant and longtime Griffins announcer Bob Kaser talked about their wild season and its even wilder end, and the week of celebration in Grand Rapids that followed the victory.
