GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The last win in a series can always be the hardest one to get. The Grand Rapids Griffins found that out Saturday night at home after a 4-1 loss in what could have been a series clinching win against the Toronto Marlies.
Griffins coach Jeff Blashill knew that Toronto would come out with their backs against the walls and not go down with out putting up a fight, but two power play goals against Grand Rapids in the third period sealed their fate.
With the win, the Marlies live to play another day. Grand Rapids is still up 3-2 in the best of seven series. But now the games shift back to Toronto ice Tuesday for game 6.
