GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - What is expected to be a tight series between the Grand Rapids Griffins and the Oklahoma City Barons with proved again Saturday night with a series evening 4-2 win for the Barons.
After Tomas Tatar got the scoring started for Grand Rapids in the 1st, the Barons added two straight goals to take a 2-1 lead. Mitch Callahan scored a game tying break away goal with just a minute later with 17:02 left in the second period.
But just minutes later, a puck off the stick of Mark Arcobello for the Barons, popped over the head of Griffins Goalie Petr Mrazek and bounced in. It proved to be the game winner. Oklahoma city would add an empty netter for a 4-2 win.
With the series now tied at a game a piece, it shifts back to Oklahoma City Wednesday for game three and Friday and Saturday for games four and five.
