PAVILION TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A man arrived home after work and discovered his residence was on fire.
It happened around 11:30 p.m. Thursday in the 6600 block of Claxton Street near East N Avenue in Pavilion Township, southeast of Kalamazoo.
The Pavilion Estates homeowner told 24 Hour News 8 the front door handle was hot. He then opened the door and tried putting a light switch on but it didn’t work. He then saw flames in the back portion of the mobile home.
A neighbor helped the owner use a hose to try and extinguish the fire but they couldn’t contain the flames.
The home was destroyed.
The residence next door sustained some melted siding due to the fire.
Nobody was injured.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
Fred Glespie was found not guilty in the death of three children who died in an apartment fire.
Police are looking for the suspect in an armed robbery that occurred at a gas station in Plainwell Thursday night.
The rink will be open that day from 3-9 p.m.
