BUENA VISTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A highway information sign north of Saginaw was hacked over the weekend to warn of a "loose gorilla."
It happened between Friday night and Saturday morning on I-75 in Buena Vista Township near River Road and the Zilwaukee Bridge, according to WNEM out of Saginaw.
The Michigan Department of Transportation information sign was hacked to read: "I-75 closed ahead due to loose gorilla," photos from one driver show.
The problem was fixed by 7 a.m. Saturday, WNEM says.
MDOT is investigating.
A donation account has been set up to help the family with its search to find a missing loved one.
Wind chills will be in the single figures Thursday, with snowfall totals in the 1- to 3-inch range.
The passenger in a pickup truck that slid off U.S. 31 and rolled over told 24 Hour News 8 that watching the video of the crash is "heart-wrenching."
