HART TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Three people sustained serious injuries in a two-car crash that shut down a stretch of US-31 in Oceana County for hours.
The crash happened around 4:20 p.m. on northbound US-31 near Polk Road in Hart Township, according to Michigan State Police.
Initial information shows one northbound vehicle rear-ended another at a high rate of speed. Both vehicles rolled over off the road.
One person was ejected.
A 19-year-old from Shelby was taken to Lakeshore Hospital in Shelby and then Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids with serious injuries.
The 52-year-old man and 57-year-old woman, both from Leslie, who were in the other vehicle were airlifted to Butterworth Hospital with serious injuries.
Northbound US-31 between Shelby and Polk roads was shut down for about four hours as troopers investigated.
The crash remains under investigation.
