MACKINAW CITY, Mich. (WOOD) - Strong thunderstorm winds caused a semi-truck to tip on its side and lean against the guardrail of the Mackinac Bridge.
It happened in the northbound lanes Thursday night and resulted in numerous delays for other drivers for several hours, according to UpNorthLive.com.
Michigan State Police told 24 Hour News 8 that the driver, a 49-year-old Hastings man, was not seriously hurt. The driver works for Kuperus Trucking Inc. of Jenison.
Winds were estimated as high as 75 miles per hour on the bridge.
